The Southwest Minnesota State University Foundation will continue the tradition of the University Gala by hosting a virtual event Oct. 25 through Nov. 1, 2020.

Southwest Minnesota State University Theatre Professor Nadine Schmidt will have the lead role in an upcoming virtual concert reading of a play entitled 'Nickel and Dimed,' by Joan Holden, produced by the Des Moines, Iowa-based theatre company TheatreMidwest.

Mustang Market recently received a large donation of feminine hygiene products from the Always company, a gift that is especially needed at the Market, according to Crystal Watts, AmeriCorps Health VISTA representative on campus.

The way Office of Admission Director Matt Suby sees it, the technology being used by SMSU to recruit students in these COVID-19 times is "right in the wheelhouse of today's students," he said.

Faculty, staff and students have been adjusting to a new learning environment at Southwest Minnesota State University since returning from an extended spring break on March 30. And while those adjustments have in some ways affected every area of the University, students enrolled in the RN to BSN program at SMSU are perhaps most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Homecoming 2020 at Southwest Minnesota State University will be held on Saturday, Oct. 10, with a theme of "Mustangs Come Together — Six Feet Apart."
